| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description In this edition, Leo Michels continues to offer a review of math concepts and basic chemical principles with an emphasis on the mathematical and conceptual skills needed for preparatory and general chemistry. The book is divided into frames, each of which contains questions and problems with answers that appear on the same page, allowing students to grasp each new idea before proceeding to more difficult material. The book also includes self-evaluation tests, which appear at the end of each unit with the answers appearing in the back of the book. Michels uses SI units and current abbreviations for measurements and addresses the calculator. This book works as a stand-alone text or as a supplement to a preparatory chemistry text such as Morris Hein and Susan Arena's Foundations of College Chemistry, 10th and 7th Alternate Editions.

| Customer Reviews: The details of its condition ought to have been more accurate March 18, 2010 Diana Miller (St. Louis, MO) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
As the title of this review suggests. The details of the condition of this book ought to have been more accurate. Yes, somewhere in fine print the seller said it had writing in the book. What they didn't say was that 1/2 of the writing was in pencil thru a number of chapters....which I took the time to erase. BUT, there's more than a handful, make that a large number of, chapters that are written in ink. With the problems & Q's inked in the book, that doesn't do me much good, now does it? So now I'm taking an unreasonable amount of time disguising & then whiting out the answers so that my work is honest & I can present the pages to the teacher as my own work. That's not mentioning the page that's torn out, w/the answers written on it in ink as well. And there are quite a number of pages stained w/coffee. Yes, the seller mentioned a stain. One thinks of a singular page stained w/coffee, BUT they didn't say there were more than a few pages this way.
Other than those things....the book is fine. I wish I had a way to take photos of all these pages & put them into this review somehow...but I don't have the equipment nor the knowledge about how to accomplish this.
